Parr Waddoups Ranks As Leading Utah Law Firm 4 Consecutive Years
Press Release
July 11, 2006

Corporate/M&A, Commercial Litigation and nine attorneys also named to prestigious list

Salt Lake City (June 11, 2006) Parr Waddoups Brown Gee & Loveless is pleased to announce the firm has again been ranked as the number one law firm in Real Estate in the Chambers USA Guide to America's Leading Business Lawyers 2006. The firm's Corporate/M&A and Commercial Litigation practices as well as nine attorneys were also ranked high in the annual guide.

REAL ESTATE:

The Parr Waddoups Real Estate practice has been ranked number one four consecutive years. When describing the top-ranked Real Estate practice, Chambers says, "an outstanding firm with a number of excellent lawyers and a good client base." Clients are attracted to the firm because its lawyers "provide value beyond their fees" and the lawyers "come prepared for whatever matter that may arise." Three real estate lawyers were ranked high on the Chambers list:

David Gee again ranked number one for Utah real estate. According to Chambers, Mr. Gee "is bright, responsive and his work is of the highest caliber." Among his impressive client base--which includes Tegra Healthcare, Washington Capital and Wal-Mart--he is known to be "practical and sensitive to the realities of the marketplace; the kind of attorney who works well with business people." Chambers also highlights Mr. Gee's negotiating skills, calling him "tenacious and a real pit bull, or diplomatic and conciliatory depending on the needs of the client."

Charles Maak captured a place of honor again this year on Chambers' Senior Statesman list and continues to be one of the most well respected attorneys in the industry "with a calm temperament that makes him capable of getting the job done for his clients."

Robert McConnell is identified as one to watch--an up and coming attorney who has built a broad real estate practice because he has an impressive ability to "pay great attention to detail, yet see the big picture." He is skilled in technical documentation and brings an awareness of business needs to the table.

CORPORATE/M&A

According to the Chambers Directory, the Corporate/ M&A lawyers are deeply rooted in the commercial and business activities of the state. The firm's Corporate/M&A practice captured second place in 2006 with three lawyers being singled out as tops in their field:

Scott Loveless shares first place with colleague Brian Lloyd. Mr. Loveless is identified by Chambers as "excellent in protecting the client from any unforeseen matters after a deal is done." He has enjoyed great success representing mid-level companies and closed several major transactions for Sports West.

Brian Lloyd was described as "outstanding" with expertise in three practice areas--technology, healthcare and aviation. According to Chambers, he maintains "a sensible and practical approach to dealing with issues and clients." He recently returned to Parr Waddoups from the Salt Lake City office of Stoel Rives.

Brent Stevenson ranked second in Corporate/M&A work. As a former president of Huntsman Holdings Corporation, he has a business-minded approach to his work and "goes the extra mile to get things done." He is described as "extremely talented and bright," representing clients internationally in acquisitions and dispositions.

COMMERICAL LITIGATION

Parr Waddoups' Commercial Litigation practice shares second place in the Utah market. The practice area is described in the Chambers guide as having "great quality and broad scope that exceeds many of its competitors." Three lawyers were spotlighted as high ranking litigators in Utah:

Clark Waddoups shares a second place ranking with his colleague, Robert Clark. Mr. Waddoups has a broad commercial litigation practice taking on everything from construction to intellectual property. He is described by Chambers as a "smart lawyer and good communicator" with a wealth of experience to "handle complex matters with ease."

Robert Clark also ranked second in the state for commercial litigation and is regarded as "highly confident," earning the confidence of his clients and the respect of his peers for his efficient handling of difficult litigation and his strong courtroom presence. He handles corporate governance issues and securities disputes.

Jeffrey Hunt has developed a niche practice in First Amendment and media litigation. He forges a strong relationship with his clients through his proactive service and is described as "decent and reasonable and always gets results."
