Steve Hill has represented clients in a wide range of litigation, including claims for antitrust and trade regulation, breach of contact, inverse condemnation, trade secrets, investors' rights, constitutional law, patent infringement, and  medical malpractice and other negligent conduct.

Current Mr. Hill serves as co-lead counsel representing several hundred individual plaintiffs with claims against San Diego Gas & Electric and other defendants for damages to nearly 200 separate properties resulting from the 2007 San Diego Wildfires.  To date, Mr. Hill and his associated co-counsel have recovered over $75 million.  Other notable current representation includes service as co-counsel with a London law firm on a claim in the UK on behalf of an US start up company for over $50 million in unpaid royalties under a software license.

Notably, Mr. Hill was co-lead counsel for Caldera in its landmark monopolization claim against Microsoft, the first major private antitrust action against the software giant.  Mr. Hill lead negotiations directly with Microsoft's in house counsel  that eventually resulted in a $280 million settlement.

Mr. Hill has been involved in a number of early stage companies as founder, officer and counsel. He served as director and CEO of Linux Networx, Inc., which during his tenure built what was then the world's third fastest supercomputer and secured over $40 million in venture financing.  He is one of the founders of the Ragnar Relay Series, which today presents 15 long-distance running relays in locations throughout the United States. He currently serves as an officer and director of Quality Housing Worldwide, whose mission is the development of affordable housing in Africa.  Mr. Hill has provided legal advice to early stage companies on a range of matters, including particularly corporate governance and venture financing.

For several years, Mr. Hill served on the BYU Law School Alumni Board, including a year as president of the law school alumni association.  In that capacity he spearheaded a fundraising effort for the establishment of a program in Law and Entrepreneurship.

Mr. Hill has published and been a speaker at seminars on a range of subjects including antitrust and intellectual property law.  He is currently listed in Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
